The TREND research on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)

The TREND consortium (Trauma RElated Neuronal Dysfunction)aims to develop concepts on disease mechanisms that occur in response to tissue injury and methods for its assessment and treatment. In this project, the study of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS-1) takes a central position and serves as a model for other conditions that may be related to CRPS-1 as far as the underlying pathophysiological mechanism is concerned.

Within TREND five research programmes can be discerned:

- Epidemiology

- Assessment Technology

- Trials

- Genetics

- Biomarkers
