15.06.10 - No genetic mutations found for dystonia
Gosso and colleagues (LUMC, Leiden) studied whether genetic mutations of certain genes (so-called DYT genes) play a rol in CRPS. The researchers mapped the gene sequences of 44 CRPS patients with dystonia. Based on this study no mutations could be found, which indicates that these genes do not seem to play a major role in CRPS.
The research findings were recently published in Journal of Neurology
