9.02.09 - Hypersensitivity not more frequent among CRPS patients
Hypersensitivity is not more frequent among CRPS patients than among non-CRPS patients. This is the outcome of research at the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam by Wesseldijk, Van Toorenbergen, Van Wijk, Huygen and Zijlstra.
They published the results in the journal…
Ige-mediated hypersensitivity: Patients with CRPS type 1 versus the Dutch population. A retrospective study dat onlangs verscheen in Pain Medicine, 10: 172-178.
66 CRPS patients were included in the study. Wesseldijk and others looked at their allergies by means of medical history, questionnaires and blood samples. In this study no difference could be found in the occurence of hypersensitivity between CRPS patients and non-CRPS patients.
